How long have you been in business?
Glass Cars has been at the same location since 1970.
What is your primary product or service?
Glass Cars repairs both domestic and import cars. We service everything from the classic collectible to new vehicles. There is no repair that we can not assist you with.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I was in graduate school and working for a shop that built dune buggies and fiberglass kit cars back in the 60's. Working with people as they created their "dream toy car"
evolved into the start of Glass Cars which was short for saying, "I build fiberglass cars."
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The purpose of Glass Cars is to help others. We service the complete car. Both domestic and imports. Our goal is to provide the best service with honesty and integrity. We prefer to get to know both our customer and their vehicle/s.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
I have one location. Being very hands on, I can only do a good job by being at one location.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are on Oak Lawn between Maple and Cedar Springs. There is an Oak Lawn exit off of the Tollway. Turn east on to Oak Lawn - we are on the left hand side a few blocks up.
There is also an Oak Lawn exit off of 35N. Go east on Oak Lawn, we are on the left. The only fenced lot on Oak Lawn.
We are also reachable from 75. Take the Lemmon exit. Go west towards Turtle Creek. At Oak Lawn take a left. We are on the right after you pass Cedar Springs and before Maple.
What type of payments do you accept?
Checks, credit cards and cash.
Which areas do you service?
The majority of our customers are from Oak Lawn, Uptown, and the Market Center area. We also have many customers from Park Cities, Downtown and North Oak Cliff.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
Jim owns and is at the shop daily. Many of our employees
have been with us for more than 15 years. Teri and Felipe are always willing to also help customers with questions and estimates.
What are your hours of operation?
Monday thru Friday 8am - 6 pm. We often are there on
Saturdays. With a phone call, we strive to work within our customers needs if they are running late.
